PRAZNINE 2021: JAVNI POZIV ZA UMETNIKE

We invite artists from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo * , Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia to apply for residency in the framework of the project “Voids2021”. The project will take place in February next year in the spaces located in the historical center of Split, otherwise used for touristic purposes and closed during winter. More information about the “Voids2020” can be found here. In the second edition, we intend to look more broadly at the aspect of the “void”, not only in the emerging circumstances caused by the pandemic, but also in its historical, social and psychological context.

Through the open call, we are looking for one additional artist who will participate in the programme of Open Studios and freely use the allocated space. It is not requested for the artist to produce a new work. The result of artistic residency within the space is not previously defined – the artists are free to focus on the process itself and thus not only on the spatial but also on the temporal aspect of the “void”. Artists are able to propose short-term or long-term interventions or communication with the audience. In addition, the residency can be a part of the process of producing current or future work or just the beginning of a new artistic research.

Residency duration and period: February 2021, 5-7 days.

The artist is requested to be present in the studio for at least 6 hours during the day (when the studio will be open to the public) and participate in the talks and events organized by Culture Hub Croatia, defined beforehand.

Costs: travel and accommodation costs are covered. Artist fee is provided.

Notes: You can submit your application in English, Croatian / Serbian / Bosnian languages. The selected participant will be notified beginning of January 2021.

We are following the development of the situation regarding Covid-19 and the project activities in February will be adjusted accordingly, while ensuring that all measures and recommendations are respected. Alternative and online participation would be possible.
